FAQ

What's your background?

I started programming in high school using TI-BASIC on a TI-83 Plus scientific calculator (mainly mathematics programs and small games).

Later on, I discovered C and C++ during polytechnic and started getting used to more complex programs as well as interfaces.

When joining engineering school I had the opportunity to use Unity and C# language (first self-taught and then through classes). From there I never stopped using both the latest up to this day.

Why did you choose Unity?

At first, it was simply a matter of which software was proposed during engineering school classes. Then I grew fond of it and especially of its modularity.

To this day, I find Unity being the most versatile and complete game engine on the market. Of course, it doesn't have the best graphics out of the box, and, of course, it may be way overkill for simple projects: but all in all, it's quite well rounded up.

Nowadays I mainly focus on using it as a primary tool: to make a game (and especially a live one) you'll need way more tools than simply Unity on its own.

How do you feel working 100% remotely?

I started working remotely in 2020 with the numerous lockdowns caused by the Coronavirus pandemic. From there, both my family organization as well as my own life balance regulated themselves around this work method.

Of course, it also meant setting up a proper workstation with top-notch hardware: but as a geek, this was the best part of it.

Which games do you play?

Mostly online competitive ones (Rocket League, League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, ...) but I also occasionally enjoy co-op games (Torchlight 2, the Borderlands series alongside Tiny Tina title, ...) or sandbox games (Minecraft, Starbound, ...) with friends when chilling.

Also, from time to time, I spend a few dozen hours on solo adventure games (Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom).

Finally, my heart beats for old-school Final Fantasy games (started at VII and completed them all until the XII one).
